Feeling Dizzy
Made it out for a morning session with a friend and got skunked. Nothing, nada...it was slooooooow. Circled Poplar and other than a fleet of trollers didn't see anything at all. The PM bite has produced much better for me lately (other than one good morning with my son).

Chesapeake Grand Slam (almost)
Had a great night on the water. Little wind, cool temps and fish everywhere. Started out chasing Macs (they were out in full force) and managed to hook four, but they all bite through my line at the boat. Next time I'll have some 30lb line with me for sure. After playing around with the Macs I headed to a different spot and wasn't disappointed. Fish were busting the surface for the better
part of the night. Most were in the high teens, but I found a sweet spot that held a lot of fish over 20". Unfortunately, it also had a ton of needle fish. At the end of the night, I caught stripers, blue fish, Macs (sorta) and needle fish. Awesome night.

Different Fishing Spot
Started out tonight finding working birds and plenty of fish under them. Most were in the 15-18" range (stripers), but I did manage a few that went over 20". After a night filled with action I decided to head home, but made a detour at the last minute. About 15 minutes into fishing (under the lights), I was bailing blue fish after blue fish. Most were just snappers, but I did manage about a dozen 2-3 lbers. It was easy pickings as the fish started to crash bait on the surface. Hopefully in a few weeks they will all be nice size rock fish!!

Feeding Frenzy
I haven't had much time to get out the last few weeks, but today I made up for lost time. Headed out around 8:00 and my first mate spotted some birds working in the distance. As we approached it was clear that we were going to have a good morning. There were pods of fish for miles. Didn't see any mac's, but we did find some nice blue fish and stripers. Several times the "white water" was just amazing. You could easily tell the difference between the smaller pods and where the bigger fish (most were in low to mid 20") were located. We probably caught 20 fish that went around 25" or so.

Tough, but got 'em
With no fish for a family party, the pressure was on to get some crabs. The reports have been saying it's been slow and today was no different (a lot of small ones). I did manage two-three dozen, but it was tough. My son landed a few more and was a sport when it started raining. Looks like this fall should be good crabbing with all of the small ones around.

0 for 2
Well, this is the second time I went out on a mission to keep a few fish for a family party to only come up empty with keepers. Found plenty of 15-17"ers, but no keepers. There were so many boats out this weekend. It made it tough for any breakers to stay up for more than a second.. After things thinned out, I was able to find plenty of breaking fish that stayed up for 30+ minutes at a time.

Back in Action
After a few weeks off the bay ( had a great vacation), I went out this morning for a few hours. Since I over sleep (still getting use to time difference), I stayed close to home. Other than a bunch of boat at the usual local hangouts and a lot of bait, I didn't find many fish. It was still nice getting out on the water.
